Students are provided breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. All meals are served family-style and teachers eat with students to model healthy choices. Milk is provided (soy or lactose-free if needed) and drinking water is available all-day.
We use Creative Curriculum for preschool, each study (or investigation) incorporates a daily question, read alouds, whole group, and small group activities that encourage exploration, creativity, and build critical thinking skills.
Our school uses the RULER approach, students participate in a daily emotional check-in. Teachers work with students to develop strategies to move from one quadrant of the mood meter to another. Staff have also been trained in trauma-informed practices and the responsive classroom model.
